The Bailey Family

The Baileys have been a part of the swimming community since the late 80's, with the sole purpose of teaching their children water safety. Starting at the Valley Center Public Pool, head coach Clinton Bailey's love and passion for swimming began. Coach Bailey all his swimming career and was able to swim competitively in college for Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. From there he decided to move to Pasadena, CA to continue his coaching career after coaching summer league in Valley Center, Kansas. After spending 8 years in California, he returned home to expand his coaching career and coached Swim Newton since 2006.

Clinton Bailey and his 11 siblings swam club swimming for most of their young lives; some have even advanced to swim in college. His parents Ken and Linda were a part of Missouri Valley Swimming as meet officials and helped the Valley Center swim team for many years, finally retiring in 2008. Clinton decided to move back to Kansas to be closer to his family after his eldest child was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. He was able to secure a head coaching position at Swim Newton where he has coached for 16 years and now can fulfill his dream of owning his swim club.
